ICT Systems Specialist - Regulatory Body Dublin 2 (Onsite 2 days per week) 3 Year FTC with a view to permanency Flexitime, Pension, 23days Annual leave Salary: €51,718 About the Role The ideal candidate has practical experience with Windows Server, virtualisation, and cloud platforms, applies best practices for performance, patching, backups, and disaster recovery, and works collaboratively with IT teams and vendors to maintain systems, deliver projects, resolve issues, and implement secure, scalable solutions aligned with IT policies. Responsibilities Manage and maintain Windows Server environments, including AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy. Administer and optimise VMware vSphere infrastructure, including hosts, VMs, storage, and networking. Support and manage Azure services - virtual networks, VMs, storage, identity, and hybrid integrations. Ensure stability, security, and performance across on-premises and cloud systems. Implement and maintain patching, upgrades, backups, and disaster recovery solutions. Monitor infrastructure, handle service tickets, and proactively resolve incidents and recurring issues. Contribute to infrastructure strategy, planning, and capacity/risk management. Deliver infrastructure projects, migrations, and new builds with internal teams and external vendors. Maintain, improve, and document IT processes, systems, policies, and technical configurations. Ensure all systems comply with IT security policies and industry best-practice standards. Support physical and logical networking technologies within the hybrid environment. Provide cross-training, knowledge-sharing, and collaborate effectively with colleagues and users. Participate in performance reporting, meeting KPIs, SLAs, and completing scheduled tasks on time. Attend internal/external meetings and support the ICT Quality Management System. Continuously develop technical skills, stay current with technology updates, and maintain a proactive, positive team-focused attitude. Requirements Education/Qualifications: Degree or professional qualification in IT (NFQ Level 7/8) or equivalent experience/certifications (e.g., AZ-800, AZ-104). Minimum 2 years in a system administration or IT infrastructure support role. Technical Skills Windows Server administration (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy) Virtualization (VMware vSphere) Cloud technologies, especially Microsoft Azure and Office 365 Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, protocols) PowerShell scripting Knowledge: System performance best practices, patching, backup, and disaster recovery.
