This role will play a key part in the overall growth of the organisation along with helping to maintain our core ethos here at Sysco - keeping the customer at the heart of everything we do.Key Accountabilities:Managing/leading the transport management and distribution teamCo-ordination of all Transport activities ensuring the smooth running of depotResponsible for efficient dispatch of all routes and products to customers on a daily basisCoaching and motivating members of the delivery teamEffectively liaising with sales, transport, and operation departments to resolve all issues in a timely mannerWorking with our Sales teams to ensure effective and efficient delivery schedulesEnsuring delivery procedures and policies are adhered to at all times, equipment breakdown and repairs are minimised and reported and ensure the premises are maintained to the highest standardsResponsible for ensuring all company vehicles are properly maintained, cleaned and safely operated to reduce accidents and enhance the company brandManage Backhaul collections and ensure they are adhered to on a daily basis.Managing Transport Compliance to industry leading standardsIdentify, coordinate and deliver training as appropriateEnsuring Security and Health & Safety Procedures are adhered to at all timesLeading by example and applying company policy and procedures in a fair, consistent and unbiased mannerRequirements:3+ years' experience in a relevant management / supervisory role in a high volume, technology driven, time sensitive multi-drop distribution operationExperience within the Food distribution industry is advantageousMust possess a full Drivers Licence, Management CPC advantageousCompetent in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and WordProven ability to manage a team to deliver the highest standards of serviceProven ability to be an effective decision maker with a hands-on approach to the businessAbility to plan and organise your own and your teams work activities in a safe, efficient and effective mannerAbility to analyse, interpret and explain and present relevant business dataFluent English - reading and writingHigh level of flexibility and problem solvingStrong knowledge of the Department of Transport regulations (Tachograph legislation, Work Time Directive etc.)Strong knowledge of the surrounding geographical areaCore Competencies·Understanding Your Customers- acts as a role model in personal approach to internal and external customer goals.
