Compliance Officer
Job Description:
The Compliance Officer will play a vital role in ensuring the organization's ongoing compliance with Data Protection Laws.
This position is responsible for supporting the Data Protection Governance Manager in maintaining compliance through the application of specialist knowledge and management capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leading the team in their responsibilities for both SARs (as a first line function) and breaches (second line).
2. Engaging with stakeholders by supporting the DPO in interactions with external regulators, external peers, Business Unit Data Owners, and key internal projects.
3. Collaborating with the data protection teams in the Business Units and with colleagues in key group functions including Legal, Procurement, Cyber Security, Data Management, and Governance to drive awareness and best practice across the Group.
4. Implementation of the assurance framework that includes reviewing first-line processes, challenging the effectiveness of controls in place, and highlighting areas of concern.
5. Supporting the DPO in preparing quarterly governance reports to the Risk Committee, Ex Co, and Business Unit Data Owners, including KPI performance and areas of concern.
Requirements:
* At least 5+ years' experience, with ideally 2-3 years' of specialist Data Protection or other related experience.
* Aptitude towards IT and business process design.
* Experience with execution of compliance or regulatory projects.
* Ability to work with highly confidential documents and information.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills and outstanding reporting, analytical, and documentation skills.
* Demonstration of continued professional development is essential.
* Data Protection certifications would be an advantage.
* Legal or Internal Audit experience would be an advantage.
