About the Role
You will oversee the full lifecycle of one major project or several concurrent sites, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.
You'll collaborate closely with clients, subcontractors, the design team, and senior leadership to drive performance and maintain a strong culture of safety, communication, and accountability.
This position suits someone who enjoys ownership, problem-solving, and leading teams in a dynamic construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the successful delivery of projects from early planning through to handover
Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, engineers, foremen, and QS teams
Manage design development, RFIs, coordination workshops, and technical queries
Oversee subcontractor performance and direct engineering and operational staff
Develop weekly work programmes and produce clear progress reports
Ensure milestones, quality standards, and commercial targets are consistently achieved
Work closely with the Contracts Manager to align programme and budget
Promote a strong Health & Safety culture and strive for an accident-free site
Chair weekly management meetings and coordinate cross-functional communication
Manage day-to-day site operations and support your team to deliver at a high level
What You Bring
Proven experience delivering construction or civil engineering projects
Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
Excellent communication and leadership abilities
Highly organised with strong planning and reporting skills
Technical proficiency and a solutions-focused mindset
Ability to motivate, guide, and develop teams
Creative and resourceful approach to solving complex challenges
Qualifications & Experience
Degree or Diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline
Trade background or equivalent practical experience is an advantage
Additional training in contractual management or similar areas is desirable
Demonstrated commitment to CPD
Experience in a similar Project Management role within construction or civil engineering
Strong understanding of the demands of delivering projects in a fast-paced environment
