GSL Education are currently recruiting for a compassionate and resilient Child Support Worker to work across SEN and SEMH provisions in Louth. This rewarding role involves providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, trauma, and behavioural difficulties. As a Child Support Worker, you will play a key role in building trusting relationships, promoting emotional well-being, and helping students access education in a safe and supportive environment.
Responsibilities as a Child Support Worker:
* Provide tailored support to children with SEN and SEMH needs, both in and out of the classroom.
* Assist with the implementation of EHCP targets and behaviour management strategies.
* Support the social, emotional, and academic development of pupils through positive interactions.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and school staff to ensure consistency in care.
* Create a calm, structured, and engaging learning environment for pupils of varying ages.
Requirements for Child Support Worker:
* Have experience working with children or young people with SEN, SEMH, or behavioural challenges.
* Be a calm, patient, and empathetic individual who can de-escalate challenging situations.
* Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Be confident in supporting students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.
* Hold an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
* Provide a full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any employment gaps in the last 10 years.
