Release Manager - Contract Role in Dublin Office
We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Release Manager to join our client, a global financial services company, based in their Dublin office. This is a 6-month rolling contract position.
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end release process, ensuring smooth coordination, deployment, and resolution of any issues related to lower lane and production releases. They will guide and advise teams while ensuring alignment with best practices and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage release activities, ensuring efficient collaboration and timely delivery of releases.
* Provide expert advice on addressing urgent production issues and assist teams in determining the best approach for releases.
* Guide teams and stakeholders on code base status and environment configurations.
* Advise development and DevOps teams on environment usage and deployments.
* Develop and maintain release branching strategies and version control using Jenkins.
* Perform root cause analysis for deployment issues to ensure timely resolution and system stability.
* Investigate past-due revocation reports, identify underlying issues, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
* Prepare detailed production runbooks and lead walkthrough meetings to ensure all stakeholders are aligned on deployment procedures.
* Manage dress rehearsal deployments and perform post-deployment adjustments in manifests to ensure seamless transitions into production.
* Coordinate outage notifications and engage with users to obtain confirmation for a smooth release initiation.
* Lead end-to-end production releases, ensuring flawless execution of release steps as outlined in the deployment runbook.
* Oversee Jira quality checks and provide guidance to SMs, PMs, and other teams as needed.
* Coordinate significant and non-significant releases, ensuring proper preparation and alignment of all teams involved.
* Facilitate Go/No-Go decision-making processes for production releases, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and aligned.
* Recommend and implement automation solutions to streamline and optimize processes.
* Perform daily deployments for QA environments and manage UAT/Regression environment preparation.
* Provision access in lower lanes based on ARM requests.
* Handle ad hoc deployment requests and create CRQs as required by program demands.
* Oversee the entire change management process, from CRQ creation to release container management.
Skill Requirements:
• Extensive experience in release management, branching strategies, and deployment processes.
• Proficient in release branching strategies and version control using Jenkins.
• Well-versed in deployment logic, including the creation of release branches and manifests via GIT.
