Job Title:
Automation Specialist - County Louth
We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Specialist to join our team in County Louth.
The key responsibilities of this position are to provide professional engineering services, including but not limited to:
* Responsibility for the Siemens PCS7 central control system to ensure it operates efficiently and effectively.
* Network Owner, responsible for all servers and control system software and communication.
* Design and programming of software for projects and plant modifications as required.
* Software modifications, fault finding, PID loop set-up and tuning, and assistance to engineers on control systems issues.
* Commissioning and signal checking for projects and plant modifications.
* Maintenance of operator stations and plant visualisation software.
* To coordinate the uploading of new software and upgrades where necessary.
* Coordinate activities with expert engineers from Control System suppliers.
The role requires knowledge of Siemens PCS7 control systems combined with a strong technical background to interact with various departments at all stages of the production process.
Requirements and Qualifications:
* A minimum of 5 years' relevant hands-on experience in industry together with a degree or similar qualification in a technical engineering related discipline.
* Experience of PCS7, Step 7, Simatic Manager Siemens PCS7and WinCC.
* Experience with Windows operating systems, security and network configuration.
* Experience with the following PLC programming languages: CFC, FBD and STL.
* Somewhat exposure to SQL and a high-level programming language.
* Knowledge of system archiving/restoration and OT cyber security tools and practices.
* Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
* Proven technical skills and business acumen.
