 
        
        Our ideal candidate will join our team as an Associate Director, playing a pivotal role in building philanthropic support for the university from Trusts & Foundations and other organizations. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record of securing major gifts.
About the Role
This is a 3-year fixed-term contract with a 6-month probationary period. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a sound strategy to secure philanthropic funding, working closely with the development team and unit leaders. They will also oversee the creation of stewardship reports for donors, coordinate donor engagement strategies, and provide guidance on advancement policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
 * Draft and oversee the development of funding proposals: The Associate Director will work proactively and collaboratively with the Development Services team to identify, qualify, and manage potential prospects and donors.
 * Secure major gifts: They will undertake face-to-face meetings with corporations and trusts and foundations to establish relationships and secure philanthropic funding in line with fundraising KPIs.
 * Cultivate new fundraising leads: The role holder will identify and cultivate new fundraising leads, working closely with established lists of donors and potential donors.
 * Oversee individual fundraising projects: As required, they will manage individual fundraising projects, coordinate donor engagement strategies, and promote the institution's name and achievements.
 * Develop a sound strategy: The Associate Director will develop a sound strategy, in concert with the development team and unit leaders, to ensure good working relationships between the Educational Trust and that unit.
 * Record all contacts and actions: They will record all contacts and actions into the central fundraising database - Raisers Edge NXT.

The successful candidate will possess:
 * Excellent written and verbal communication skills
 * Experience working with and influencing individuals at senior levels
 * Strong people interaction skills with experience in building and fostering long-term relationships
 * A high degree of planning and organizational skills, managing multiple projects concurrently
 * Attention to detail
 * High degree of computer literacy
 * Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment
Benefits
The salary will be in the region of €60,000+ per annum DOE (depending on experience). Annual leave is 24 days, and after one year continuous service, employees are entitled to join the DCU Educational Trust Pension scheme and avail of a bi-annual Employee Health Screening Check-Up.
