The Water Pump Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of water pumping systems. This role involves working with centrifugal pumps, submersible pumps, booster systems, and related piping, valves, and electrical controls. The technician ensures optimal performance, prevents downtime, and provides solutions for pump -related issues in domestic, agricultural, municipal, and industrial environments.Key Responsibilities:Install, commission, and test various types of water pumps and pumping systems.Inspect and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in pumps, motors, and controls.Perform routine maintenance, lubrication, and part replacements (seals, bearings, impellers, etc.).Troubleshoot pump performance issues such as cavitation, overheating, or leaks.Repair or replace faulty parts and reassemble pumps to operational standards.Calibrate and align motors, couplings, and shafts for efficient operation.Work with piping systems, valves, and pressure tanks.Interpret technical manuals, drawings, and schematics.Maintain records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance schedules.Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.Provide technical advice to clients/customers on pump care and usage.
RequirementsQualifications & Skills:High school diploma, technical/vocational certification, or equivalent.Proven experience in pump installation, repair, and maintenance.Knowledge of hydraulic systems, electrical controls, and mechanical components.Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.Problem -solving and troubleshooting skills.Physical fitness and ability to work in confined spaces or outdoor environments.Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.Good communication and customer service skills.Ability to work independently or as part of a team.Fieldwork at client sites (residential, agricultural, commercial, or industrial).May involve working outdoors, in wells, pump rooms, or water facilities.Exposure to noise, water, grease, and varying weather.May require overtime, emergency call -outs, or weekend shifts.
