Job Title: Child Development Specialist
This is a unique opportunity to work in a therapeutic environment, delivering holistic care to young people aged 13-17. The team will focus on building positive attachments and providing a safe space for children and young people to grow.
You will have the chance to be part of a multidisciplinary team, working closely with colleagues to develop and implement Care and Placement Plans. Your role will involve ensuring accurate recording and promoting the rights and responsibilities of each child/young person.
The successful candidate will have responsibility for working with children and young people, household activities, administration, teamwork, professional development, health and safety.
Job Description:
* Develop and implement Care and Placement Plans in collaboration with the team.
* Promote the physical, emotional, social, and religious welfare of each young person.
* Encourage attendance at school, training centers, medical appointments, and other important events.
* Organize personal documents, arrangements, information, and finances on behalf of the young person.
* Liaise with parents, family members, general services, and other agencies to support the young person's needs.
* Attend meetings related to the care and development of the young person.
* Engage in age-appropriate play and activities with each child/young person.
* Participate in physical interventions where necessary, in line with local policies and procedures.
* Promote participation in decision-making processes affecting their lives.
* Prepare well-balanced meals in conjunction with the young people.
* Undertake various aspects of home management, including budgeting, upkeep, and cleaning.
* Report to the Social Care Leader/Manager on matters affecting service delivery.
* Maintain written and verbal reports on the young person's progress.
* Ensure adherence to child protection procedures as a designated officer.
* Stay up-to-date with current legislation and childcare knowledge.
* Pursue ongoing professional training and development.
* Comply with and contribute to policy development, adhering to relevant legislation, regulations, and standards.
Requirements:
* Registration in the Social Care Workers Register maintained by CORU or evidence of application.
* Hold a CORU-approved Social Care Worker qualification.
* Demonstrate requisite knowledge and ability for proper discharge of duties.
