We are seeking a project manager with a geophysical background for approximately 50 days between July and the end of October to support delivery of INFOMAR and its Value Added Exploitation programme activities.
* Work remotely, with occasional online meetings and/or monthly in-person meetings in client offices and/or onboard vessels in Cork or Galway ports (with a maximum of 4 in-person meetings).
* These include but are not limited to INFOMAR programme surveying, EMFAF SeaShelf benthic habitat mapping, EMODnet Seabed Habitats data management, and Ultra High Resolution Seismic data acquisition in support of Offshore Renewable Energy.
* Service delivery will focus on development and improvement of survey and data collation systems & processes. It will inform effective survey planning through to data acquisition, processing, integration and dissemination, for INFOMAR and its supported programmes.
Survey Support
* Geophysical & benthic habitat data coordination & collation
* Seabed & benthic habitat survey planning, specification & line planning
* Support for field survey services specification & procurement, including SeaShelf, INFOMAR & ORE Geophysical Surveys
* Support development of improved survey progress tracking and near-realtime data QC for geophysical and habitat mapping surveys
* Support data review and/or desk studies to inform groundtruthing and baseline habitat mapping survey planning
* Support development of risk assessment and onboard survey capacity for site clearance geophysical survey incorporating sidescan sonar, magnetometer and/or gradiometric instrumentation.
* Develop and improve reporting templates for desk study assessments and geophysical and benthic habitat mapping data interpretation outputs.
* Contribute to scoping, procurement, commissioning, undertaking and/or monitoring/oversight of desk studies and/or surveys as required.

* A Degree in Geology, Marine Geophysics, Earth Science, or a related discipline.
* A minimum of 10 years’ experience in geophysical & hydrographic survey coordination and data management, including at least 2 years seagoing experience.
* Experience in report writing, drafting of Survey Specifications and Scope of Works.
* Experience leading public procurement, including drafting and/or responding to Request for Quotes and Government Tendering.
* A thorough knowledge of multibeam (swathe), side scan sonar, sub-bottom profiler, magnetometer, and ultra-high resolution seismic, and familiarity with benthic habitat mapping methodologies.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint & Teams.
* Candidate availability to commit a minimum of 2.5 days per week to the contract during July, August, September & October
