My client based in Central Dublin is looking to add to their team a Financial Accountant.
It is a dynamic, multifaceted role and is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely delivery of high-volume financial processes, month-end, quarter- end, and year-end closes. The role is critical in executing key processes that support the completion of the management accounts, budgets, and financial statements
Responsibilities
* Responsible for month end and quarter-end close activities.
* Prepare balance sheet and key reconciliations (e.g. salaries, pensions, medical insurance, risk benefit, insurance and intercompany matrix).
* Support the preparation of management accounts through variance analysis and reconciliation insights.
* Ensure accounts are compliance with FRS 102 and the Charities SORP.
* Prepare consolidated audit schedules and support necessary for the statutory audit.
* Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements, as needed.
* Identify and implement any improvements in the current processes and workflows
* Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and post relevant journals.
* Assist the Financial Controller in annual budget preparation and management reporting.
* Provide reconciliations, variance analysis and insights for reporting and to inform decision making.
* Perform an annual comprehensive reconciliation of the third-party records as per group health insurance policy with the internal records.
* Support the HR Administrator in overseeing payroll operations, including reviewing and approving payroll prepared by the outsourced provider.
* Prepare the annual consolidated payroll reconciliation.
Requirements
* Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or ACMA) with 3–5+ years of post-qualification industry experience, ideally with exposure to a diverse client base; experience in the charity or not-for- profit sector is a strong asset.
* Solid technical expertise in financial accounting and reporting, with working knowledge of SORP, FRS 102, and the Charities Act and the updated Charities Amendment Act.
* Experience dealing with external and internal auditors.
* Experience with processing high volumes of transactions.
* Experience in and responsible for month-end and quarter-end processes and closing, as well as supporting management accounts, budgeting, and statutory financial reporting processes.
* Proficient in financial software, AccountsIQ, Salesforce (Pastoral Management System) are an advantage, and advanced Excel; comfortable with data-driven reporting and reconciliation of large volumes of data.
