Purpose of the Role
As a
Dental Hygienist
at Dame Street Dental, you will deliver preventive oral care, build trust with patients, help maintain optimal oral health, and support the clinic's high standard clinical governance. You will enhance patient comfort, reduce dental anxiety, and contribute to the overall excellence of Truly's patientobsessed service model.
Main Responsibilities
 * Perform hygiene treatments: scaling, polishing, periodontal maintenance, deep cleaning.
 * Conduct detailed oral health assessments and charting: gum health, risk factors, soft tissue evaluation.
 * Provide patient education on oral hygiene techniques, nutritional advice, and prevention of dental disease.
 * Collaborate with dentists and other clinical staff to develop treatment plans and followup care.
 * Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring compliance with clinical governance and quality standards.
 * Use modern equipment and follow Truly's protocols for infection control, safety, and patient comfort.
 * Participate in continuing professional development and support practice growth.
Requirements: Competencies & Skills
Education / Qualifications
:
 * Qualified Dental Hygienist registered in Ireland.
 * Relevant accreditation/licensure to practice.
Experience
:
 * Minimum 1 year of experience as a Dental Hygienist (experience in busy, multidentist practices preferred).
 * Previous exposure to periodontal therapy and preventive oral health treatments.
Technical Knowledge & Skills
:
 * Proficiency in scaling, polishing, and periodontal maintenance.
 * Ability to conduct deep cleaning and comprehensive oral health assessments.
 * Knowledge of infection control protocols and hygiene equipment.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills
:
 * Strong patientfacing communication, with empathy and clarity.
 * Ability to ease dental anxiety and support nervous patients.
 * Collaborative approach with dentists and clinical teams.
