Job Description:
AXA Partners are seeking a Data Tech Manager. Are you ahighly skilled, motivated and hands-on technical leader with experience of overseeing the delivery of data projects, executing data strategies, and fostering innovation within the Data and AI team in the insurance sector? In collaboration with the Head of Data & AI the successful person will be in charge of driving the technical roadmap for data and AI architecture while managing the "Data Tech, Platforms & Solutions" pole. This role includes mentoring team members, developing a training plan to ensure their upskilling on emerging technologies, ensuring a balanced workload, and implementing best practices to enhance productivity and performance within the team.
What you'll be doing:
* Leads and manages the "Data Tech, Platforms & Solutions" team, ensuring effective collaboration and communication within the group and with other departments
* Leads the design, development, and implementation of data solutions using Azure, Power BI, Oracle technologies, AI components and APIs, complying with the Data Product design paradigm
* Participates in designing and driving solutions to modernize existing systems and transition them to more efficient and user friendly ones (reduce/remove technical debt)
* Actively contributes to the writing of critical / reference deliverables, ensuring timely and efficient execution of data projects and tasks
* Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including business and technical architecture, to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights that support business objectives
* Liaises with the Product Owner and the Head of Data & AI to help on projects qualification, resource allocation, and prioritization of initiatives
* Establishes and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for team performance and project success, implementing improvements as needed
* Collaborates closely with the Data Science & Analytics manager to ensure seamless integration of data solutions and analytics initiatives
* Mentors and guide team members in best practices for data management, analysis, and visualization, fostering a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing
* Has a particular focus on optimizing the running costs of our data, BI & AI platforms by rightsizing the architecture's components, and setting up & closely monitoring their usage, availability and performance
* Socializes knowledge of technical components across the team, ensuring all members are equipped with the skills necessary to excel in their roles
* Develops and promote training programs and workshops to enhance the team's technical capabilities and business data knowledge
* Keeps up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement
* Ensures compliance with data governance policies and data privacy regulations
* Communicates complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively
* Contributes to Guilds and improvements in the global data framework
What you'll bring:
* Demonstrated expertise in data engineering, data analytics, or a related field, with a specialization in Azure and Power BI
* Strong technical background in data architectures, cloud solutions, and data governance principles
* Extensive hand-on experience with Azure, Power BI, Oracle databases, SQL, and PL/SQL
* Strong understanding of data architectures, data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and best practices in data governance
* Solid business acumen and understanding of data requirements in the insurance sector
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to engage effectively with both technical and non - technical stakeholders
* Experience in fostering team collaboration in an Agile environment and familiarity with project management tools.
* Good knowledge and appetite for emerging technologies, AI concepts, and data visualization best practices
* Experience in the insurance industry or financial services sector is a plus
