Purpose of the Post
The Finance Officer will, on a Permanent Wholetime Contract, provide an administrative finance support service within the finance team, in processing finance-related documents, generating finance-related reports and liaising with appropriate stakeholders.
Working in a care environment, the successful candidate will work within an established supportive team and have the ability to build and maintain excellent relationships at every level across a varied and multi-faceted organisation.
This is an ideal role for a strong accounts administrator with the desire to work with a busy finance team in a care environment.
Key Qualifications
Relevant qualification in Accounting (Accounting Technician or part-qualified accountant), Finance, Banking or related discipline.
Minimum two years previous administrative finance experience in a busy office.
Proven ability to support or lead financial projects, ideally in a healthcare setting.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organisational and project management skills.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills.
Key Responsibilities
Administration of service user and staff fund requests
Monitoring and managing fund balances
Ensuring tasks are completed in line with spend guidelines
Ownership of policy documents and fund request templates
Ensuring adequate audit trail of funds dispersed, receipted and documented
Ongoing reconciliation of funds to bank and user accounts
Liaising with staff and service users across the organisation
Providing training and a point of contact for staff queries
Administrative duties for banking system including card issuing, allocation and monitoring of locked and expiring cards
Proactive approach to updating policies and procedures and the dissemination of same to relevant staff
Project management of current and emerging efficiency methods to improve processes and meet KPIs
Finance representative at meetings with both internal and external stakeholders

Salary
In line with the Department of Health consolidated pay scales, the current salary scale is Grade V (Clerical); €52,235 – €62,485 per annum (incl. LSI).
