Operational Procurement Manager Job Summary
We are seeking a seasoned Operational Procurement Manager to lead and inspire our team in optimizing operational purchasing approaches.
This strategic role will be responsible for developing and maintaining site-specific procurement programs and processes, ensuring the timely replenishment of raw materials and indirect products.
Collaborating closely with Logistics and other functions, you will optimize inbound freight charges and associated physical storage and movement costs, while delivering value to the organization through effective inventory management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain site-specific operational purchasing programs and processes.
* Be directly accountable for material shortages, values, and volumes.
* Implement best practice use of systems functionality to support timely replenishment of raw materials and indirect products.
You will work closely with Logistics to optimize inbound freight charges and associated physical storage and movement costs. Collaborate with Manufacturing and Engineering functions to deliver cut-over of engineering changes reducing scrap wastage.
Requirements:
* Direct experience of managing an inventory planning/buying function in a time-pressurized environment.
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
* Proven professional experience within an inventory management/buying function within a manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will be an experienced people manager capable of building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers. They should have demonstrable team-building skills, including coaching/mentoring and succession planning.
