Tirlán is a food and nutrition cooperative, with a diverse portfolio of quality ingredients and leading consumer and agriculture brands.
They currently partner with a third‑party service provider for IT services and are embarking on a transformation programme to stand up their own IT capability. The initial focus will be on enabling projects and will involve close collaboration with their partner, creating a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Overview
Reporting to the IT Transformation Manager, the IT Infrastructure Engineer maintains the business's data centre infrastructure and works with a managed service provider for Tirlán’s data centres and server infrastructure. The role oversees the work performed and manages operational aspects of the managed service provider relationship.
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with managed services provider to set up, configure, and maintain hardware and software components within the datacentre, such as servers, storage, and operating systems
Oversee the central components of the Microsoft IT Infrastructure, such as Active Directory and related core IT infrastructure services, ensuring it is secure, available, performing optimally, and addressing any technical issues in a timely manner
Oversee and direct managed service providers as they perform routine maintenance tasks and upgrades on central IT infrastructure, in line with Tirlán’s security policies and controls
Ensure the datacentre and central IT Infrastructure complies with security standards and industry regulations, and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans as needed
Work collaboratively with other IT teams and business stakeholders to support new initiatives and projects
Participate in datacentre and central IT Infrastructure related incident management, liaising with service management, the managed service partner and application teams
Contribute to the strategy development for Tirlán’s Central IT Infrastructure
Key Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
3+ years’ experience in Microsoft IT Infrastructure or similar
Familiar with IT infrastructure services such as Microsoft Active Directory
Proven experience working with managed service providers in managing datacentres and IT Infrastructure
Knowledge of security standards and best practices, including ISO 27001 and NIST
Familiar with virtualization technologies, such as VMware – technical knowledge of server hardware, operating systems and storage technologies
Knowledge of data backup and disaster recovery processes
Networking experience is advantageous
Experience with Cloud Services desirable
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proven analytical and problem‑solving skills
