As the General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the park's operations, driving business growth, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, and managing a team of staff members. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, excellent business acumen, and a passion for delivering outstanding service in a recreational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales and Service Delivery · Develop and manage the annual budget, including revenue projections, expense control, and cost analysis. · Monitor financial performance, analyse variances, and implement corrective actions as needed. · Ensure the highest standard of customer service by maintaining and improving review scores and mystery shop results. · Manage day-to-day park operations and perform front-line management duties when necessary. · Handle complaints within the team's scope, ensuring compliant resolution. · Execute local sales and marketing plans, including social media management. · Achieve and monitor upsell targets for the front-of-house café and reception. · Maintain and update marketing literature on-site. · Meet site sales targets related to membership, group bookings, parties, and other business initiatives. · Monitor activity levels and adjust staffing levels accordingly to provide efficient and exceptional customer service.
2. Compliance & Safety Management · Oversee health and safety processes, including facility and equipment inspections, maintenance records, and personnel training. · Establish and maintain effective controls covering financial and operational aspects of the business in accordance with company policy. · Ensure compliance with contracts, licenses, and documentation required for safe park operations. · Conduct audits and ensure revenue protection compliance in line with company procedures. · Ensure proper use of the company's compliance and time and attendance systems. · Ensure overall performance and compliance of the café.
3. Team Management · Manage employee sickness and lateness records, following up as per company policy. · Lead a high-performing team through effective recruitment, people management, development, retention, and succession planning strategies. · Communicate Park targets and KPIs to relevant team members and develop plans to achieve them. · Foster a culture of exceptional customer service and teamwork among staff members. Skills and Attributes: · Strong leadership skills and ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team. · Excellent business acumen and ability to analyse financial data and make informed decisions. · Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. · Demonstrated ability to drive business growth and exceed financial targets. · In-depth knowledge of safety protocols and risk management in a recreational environment. · Proficiency in computer systems and software for financial and operational management.
Requirements:
· Proven experience in a senior management role within the hospitality, recreation, or entertainment industry.
· Minimum of 3 years of proven leadership experience (essential).
· First Aid qualification.
· IOSH/NEBOSH General Certificate Qualified would be advantageous
· Flexibility is essential due to extended operating hours, including days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
· Sales experience (desirable).
· Café experience (desirable).
