We're expanding the team and building the foundational platform and product needed to scale into a new €20B+ market. This position will play a defining role in this pioneering journey.
The Position - AI Platform Lead
You will lead the design and development of EVA's AI platform end-to-end and serve as a core technical pillar of the product. First and foremost, this is a hands-on builder role.
We're looking for a senior AI engineer and architect who has already designed and delivered AI/ML platforms and wants to build EVA's core AI platform hands-on. You know what it takes to ship production-grade hybrid AI systems combining LLMs, RAG, ML inference, agent workflows, and structured knowledge -- and you're excited at the chance to build from early stage to a professional platform.
WHAT YOU WILL BUILD
AI Platform Architecture (RAG + Agents + Hybrid Systems) -
Architect and build EVA's core AI platform, including:
* RAG pipelines with optimized embeddings, ranking and retrieval structures.
* LLM-based agent workflows, using frameworks such as LangGraph, PydanticAI, MCP, or custom orchestrators.
* Hybrid inference layers that combine LLM outputs with ML models, rules, or domain logic to ensure accuracy and consistency.
* Define the architectural patterns and abstractions that all EVA assistants and AI features will rely on.
Engineering Knowledge Layer -
Design and implement EVA's multi-layer Knowledge Layer, including:
* Data ingestion, normalization, and transformation
* Post-processing frameworks that enforce factual correctness
* Ensure knowledge representations support high recall, precision, traceability, and scalability across customers.
LLM & ML Development
* Develop model guardrails, consistency checks, and verification workflows grounded in domain rules and ML outputs.
* Train, fine-tune, and optimize LLMs using LoRA, QLoRA, or custom training approaches on domain-specific engineering datasets.
Productionisation, Reliability & Performance
* Deploy AI components into production with robust monitoring, observability, and fallback mechanisms.
* Optimize system performance, latency, and cost efficiency for multi-tenant enterprise customers.
* Ensure platform behavior meets the reliability and compliance requirements of regulated industries.
Technical Leadership & Standards
* Mentor AI and backend engineers, contributing to a high-performance engineering culture.
* Make foundational technical decisions that shape EVA's long-term platform and IP.
* Translate product requirements into platform architecture and engineering plans.
* Establish best practices in AI experimentation, benchmarking, data workflows, and responsible AI.
WHAT YOU BRING
Required
* Minimum 8+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ in applied AI/ML, including designing and delivering production-grade AI systems.
* Strong Python engineering skills
* Proven experience building:
* RAG systems
* LLM agents / orchestration frameworks
* Hybrid ML + LLM pipelines
* Knowledge layers or semantic/ontology-based systems
* Experience fine-tuning LLMs on domain-specific datasets
* Hands-on cloud experience (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
* AI systems in cloud environments using containerized or orchestrated workloads
* Ability to design and build production-quality AI systems end to end
* Strong technical judgement around accuracy, safety, scaling, and architecture
* Experience designing evaluation frameworks, feedback loops, or reward-based scoring systems that improve RAG / model output quality
Nice to Have
* Early-stage startup experience
* Experience in engineering, manufacturing, med-tech, energy, or aerospace
* Experience with Knowledge graphs or ontology modeling
