Due to continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, they are now seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join their team in North Dublin.
As Health and Safety Manager, you will be responsible for driving a strong safety culture across multiple sites, ensuring full compliance with statutory requirements and company policies, and promoting continuous improvement in health and safety performance.
About Your New Job
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Health and Safety Manager with 8+ years’ experience in the construction industry, ideally within a main contractor environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all projects are delivered safely, with a focus on risk management, compliance, and developing a positive safety culture throughout the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s Health & Safety management system across all sites.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation and best practices.
* Conduct regular site inspections and audits, identifying potential hazards and recommending corrective actions.
* Lead incident investigations, prepare reports, and implement preventive measures.
* Provide guidance, training, and support to site teams to promote safety awareness and competence.
* Work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure consistent safety standards.
* Liaise with external stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies, as required.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, and safety plans.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety culture and performance across all projects.
* Deliver toolbox talks, inductions, and safety briefings to ensure engagement at all levels.
What Skills You Need
* A minimum of 8 years’ experience in a Health & Safety role within the construction industry (main contractor experience preferred).
* Proven track record in implementing and managing safety systems on large-scale construction projects.
* Strong knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation, codes of practice, and site safety requirements.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
* Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
* Proficiency in safety management software and MS Office applications.
* Full clean driver’s licence and flexibility to travel to sites as required.
