A leading manufacturing facility based in Dublin is seeking a skilled and motivatedAutomation Engineerto support and enhance automated manufacturing systems. This role offers hands-on exposure to advanced automation technologies, continuous improvement initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration within a fast-paced production environment.The Automation Engineer will play a key role in maintaining equipment reliability, improving process efficiency, and supporting the implementation of new automation solutions that drive operational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the design, installation, commissioning, and validation of automated manufacturing equipment.Provide hands-on technical support for troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving automation systems and plant equipment.Collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams to optimise manufacturing processes.Assist with root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA/RCCA) to resolve equipment and process issues.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aligned with Lean Manufacturing principles.Develop and maintain technical documentation including SOPs, schematics, user requirement specifications (URS), and validation documentation.Support automation-related projects, contributing to scope definition, timelines, and cost estimates.Assist in the selection, quotation, and implementation of automation equipment, services, and system upgrades.Support the delivery of technical training for operators and technicians on automation systems, PLCs, HMIs, sensors, servos, and pneumatics.Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards across all automation activities.Liaise with external vendors and system integrators to support automation projects and equipment performance.Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to enhance reliability, efficiency, and throughput.Education & QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related scientific discipline (required)Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt (desirable)Relevant automation or controls certifications (advantageous)Experience Required2–5 years' engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial environmentExperience with industrial automation systems such as PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and motion controlExposure to CAD systems and manufacturing systems (e.g., SAP or similar) is desirableExperience supporting equipment commissioning, troubleshooting, or improvement projectsSkills & CompetenciesSolid understanding of manufacturing processes and industrial automation systemsStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to work effectively in a cross-functional team environmentGood communication and technical documentation skillsProactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellenceStrong commitment to safety, quality, and customer requirementsFor further information on this role please contact Roisin Vaughan on or
