Role Overview
Job Title: Maintenance Planner
Employment Type: Contingent Worker (Fixed-Term Contract)
Initial Duration: 12 Months
Extension Option: Up to 6 additional months
Start Date: July 2026
Work Arrangement: On-site
Core Objective: Optimize asset reliability, operational efficiency, and safety compliance through meticulous maintenance work plans.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Scheduling
Develop detailed task sequences for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
Coordinate labor, spare parts, tools, and specialized equipment before execution.
Build weekly and long‑range schedules alongside operations and maintenance supervisors.
Rank work orders using asset criticality, operational risk, and resource bandwidth.
CMMS & Maximo Administration
Create, track, update, and close work orders within IBM Maximo (or equivalent).
Maintain precise records of equipment history, failure codes, and completed actions.
Generate reports on schedule compliance, backlog size, and PM completion rates.
Enforce strict data entry standards to keep the CMMS database clean and accurate.
Materials & Resource Coordination
Identify required spare parts and order materials via warehouse teams.
Verify physical material availability before locking in the maintenance schedule.
Build and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) and standard job plans within the CMMS.
Continuous Improvement
Refine planning processes to reduce technician downtime and improve execution quality.
Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and reliability improvement programs.
Update existing Preventive Maintenance templates based on historical failure data.
Compliance & Safety
Embed safety standards, regulatory rules, and company policies into every job pack.
Integrate Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Permit to Work (PTW), and isolation procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
Required Criteria
Experience: 3-5+ years in industrial, manufacturing, utilities, or energy sector maintenance planning.
Software: High proficiency in IBM Maximo or similar CMMS (SAP PM, Oracle EAM, Infor EAM).
Methodologies: Deep knowledge of predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance practices.
Workflow: Proven success managing backlogs, work orders, and complex labor schedules.
Metrics: Practical familiarity with industry‑standard maintenance KPIs and performance reporting.
Safety: Strong command of site safety protocols, including LOTO and PTW systems.
Soft Skills: Exceptional organizational talent, analytical thinking, and clear cross‑team communication.
Preferred Criteria
Education: Trade certification or technical diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
Strategy: Background in Reliability‑Based Maintenance (RBM) or asset integrity workflows.
Scope: Direct experience planning large‑scale plant shutdowns or turnarounds.
Industry: Past roles inside heavy industry, utilities, oil & gas, or energy sectors.
