Job Title:Senior Medical PhysicistLocation:CorkContract: Fulltime, Permanent, 4 days per week.We are looking for self-motivated and enthusiasticPhysicistwith a few years of experience and a good background in Quality Assurance, optimisation and radiation protection/safety.This exciting opportunity has become available due to the expansion of service.Excel Recruitment is delighted to partner with a well-established and highly regarded cancer centre in Cork to recruit aSenior Medical Physicist.This is a unique opportunity for anexperienced Medical Physicistseeking aSenior Clinical rolewith strong leadership support, a full-time 4-day working week, and the chance to contribute meaning fully within a collaborative, patient-focused environment.The successful candidatewill join a friendly and dynamic team. You will work closely with, and be supported by, an outstanding Chief Medical Physicist and a highly skilled multidisciplinary team.The RoleAs Senior Medical Physicist,you will play a key role in the delivery and continuous improvement of Radiotherapy Physics services, contributing across treatment planning, dosimetry, imaging, quality assurance, and clinical governance. This role offers a balance of hands-on clinical work, professional influence, and work–life balance within an established service.The Opportunity:Provide senior clinical and scientific expertise across Radiotherapy Physics, including treatment planning, imaging, dosimetry, and QASupport service development, clinical governance, and risk management in line with Irish and EU radiation protection legislation and best practiceWork collaboratively within a well-established physics team under the leadership of the Chief Medical PhysicistContribute to the optimisation of existing technologies and the implementation of new techniques and workflowsPartner with Radiation Oncology, Radiography, Nursing, and Hospital Management to deliver safe, efficient, and patient-centred careKey Responsibilities:Support the day-to-day delivery of Radiotherapy Physics services, including QA programmes for external beam radiotherapy and brachytherapyContribute to oversight of treatment planning systems, IGRT/CBCT, and dosimetry, ensuring traceability and audit readinessParticipate in commissioning and validation of new equipment, software, and clinical techniques (e.g. VMAT, SBRT, SRS, HDR)Assist with the development, review, and implementation of SOPs and clinical protocolsParticipate in safety, quality, and governance activities, including incident learning and compliance reportingSupport teaching, training, research, and collaboration with academic and national networks.Essential Requirements:PhD or MSc in Medical Physics or a related discipline from an accredited programmeRegistered Medical Physics Expert (Ireland), or recognised European / UK training, or US (DABR) / Canadian equivalent registrationMinimum of six years' satisfactory experience, with at least three years at senior level, in Radiotherapy, Radiological Physics, Medical Imaging, Radiation Protection, or a related fieldStrong background in linear accelerator calibration and periodic quality assuranceExperience with 3D conformal radiotherapy, brachytherapy, and treatment planning systemsEssential experience with radiosurgery and IMRT / VMATDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary clinical teamYour Rewards:Relocation packageCompetitive pay for the work employees do - base pay, performance related pay and premium pay where applicable.Comprehensive pension plan, and company funded Death in Service Benefit x 3 times.Critical Illness cover for all employees up to the age of 66.Commitment to work-life balance and employee wellness.Fully paid maternity and paternity leave.How to Apply:For more information about this exciting opportunity, please contact Charlene Cooke confidentially by telephone or by
