Overview
Manager, Alternative Investments at ACCA Careers (Northern Trust). The role is to manage the Alternative Investments group, provide SME support for large regional clients, engage in new business development, RFPs, and business-as-usual operations for IOO (Investment Outsourcing Operations). The role will also support expanding LTAF/LTIF semi-liquid structures in the EMEA region with a local presence of expertise.
Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain subject matter expertise and advise management, clients, and third parties.
* Provide guidance to internal clients on implications of business trends, operating environment changes, and firm or business unit strategy.
* Interact with various business areas to determine automation needs and provide ongoing systems support.
* Maintain risk management and compliance programs and activities for the assigned group.
Qualifications
* Strong background in private debt, syndicate loans, and alternative investment products.
* In-depth knowledge of the business unit/function.
* Experience providing comprehensive, high-technical-level consultation and leadership to teams and partners.
* Experience conducting performance management and career development processes, staffing input, and providing hands-on training to staff.
* Experience developing periodic goals, organizing work, setting priorities, monitoring activities, and ensuring timely completion.
* Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Knowledge of capital markets with exposure to private equity, valuation reporting, and reconciliations is advantageous.
* College or university degree and/or relevant proven work experience required.
* Extensive exposure to Securities Operations, with prior experience in the Alternative Assets domain preferred.
* Experience working with Risk, Audit and Compliance to ensure organizational objectives are met.
