* About the Role
* This is a full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week, with flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends as required.
* The successful candidate will have an agreed shift pattern set within the store opening hours, with opportunities to discuss working hours and shift patterns in further detail at interview.
* You must be able to travel to the store via car, public transport, or other means to fulfill shift requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Store Manager in delivering on key performance indicators (KPIs).
* Maximize store sales and profitability through effective merchandising, inventory management, and customer engagement.
* Ensure consistently high store standards are maintained, aligned with auditing guidelines.
* Assist with stock take preparation and implement action plans to improve results.
* Lead by example in promoting a safe working environment for colleagues, adhering to food safety, health, and safety, and compliance protocols.
* Deliver excellent customer service, championing a positive shopping experience.
* Develop and execute social media strategies to drive sales and engage customers.
* Oversee store ordering to ensure customer availability of products.
* Manage the team, including roster writing, return-to-work interviews, investigations, recruitment, inductions, training, appraisals, and performance management, ensuring full compliance with company policies.
* Support the Store Manager in engaging with colleagues, the local community, and charity partners.

Role Criteria
* At least 2 years' recent experience in a busy convenience or supermarket environment, at Supervisor level, with some experience of margin management.
* GCSE Maths and English, Grade C or above (or equivalent), and/or further education in a related discipline.
* Proven experience in stock control, people skills, cost control, rota planning, HACCP implementation.
* Demonstrate excellent communication skills.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
* Desirable: Good working knowledge of all fresh food areas; good knowledge of retail stock take preparation and execution; Post Office, off-licence, forecourt experience.
