The role assists in the configuration and management of networking and data communications infrastructure on‑premise and in a hybrid cloud environment. It involves working with the ICT Security team to manage security technologies, with a focus on network management, responding to security system alerts and monitoring for suspicious activity. The role requires keeping knowledge up to date on technical systems, security and network risks, trends and process innovations relevant to the Agency.Principal AccountabilitiesThe role participates in managing and maintaining a secure network infrastructure and communication systems across the Agency, with emphasis on availability, security practices and monitoring tools. Duties include, but are not limited to:Administration and support of network security control tools including firewalls and network access managementAssist in evaluating the security of new products and services (on‑premise and cloud)Troubleshoot and analyse network security across various technologiesMonitor security system logs and reports for anomaliesSupport network security and system auditing and vulnerability assessmentsParticipate in remediation and mitigation of detected vulnerabilitiesRequired QualificationsBachelor degree in Computing, Engineering or equivalent qualification or experienceCertification/Qualifications in industry recognised Network and Security disciplinesThe following would be a distinct advantage:Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Fortinet Certifications, Checkpoint CCSA, Palo AltoMicrosoft Network, Security, or Cloud certificationsAny relevant networking and IT security qualificationsExperienceMinimum of 5 years’ experience in a network security administration role for a medium sized organisationStrong knowledge of LAN, WAN, DMZ, VPN and DNS technologies and protocolsExperience with network security management solutions and PKIExperience with Fortinet and Checkpoint security technologiesExperience with web and email content filters, IPSUnderstanding of cloud networking and security concepts; experience with cloud security solutionsFamiliarity with security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS)Experience with ticketing tools for Incident, Change & Problem ManagementExperience in the following areas would be a distinct advantage:Experience with CISCO and Palo Alto technologiesExperience with SIEM and NDR toolsExperience with Access and Identity Management and Privileged Access ManagementExperience with Microsoft Azure (Azure Virtual Networks, Azure Firewall, Azure Security Centre)SkillsAptitude for problem solving and taking initiativeStrong team player with a flexible approachHighly motivated with ability to adapt and learnEffective written and oral communicationPeople, Diversity & EqualityThe NTMA is proud to be an equal opportunities employer and is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
