Are you a compassionate, motivated professional committed to prioritising the needs of young people? We’re seeking a dedicated Social Care Worker to join our team in County Longford, where you’ll play a vital role in the lives of children and young people in care.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prioritise the wellbeing, safety, and development of young people in a supportive and empowering environment.
* Implement and adhere to relevant policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring best practices in care delivery.
* Promote a trauma-informed, person-centred approach in all interactions.
* Support young people in building life skills, education, social relationships, and community involvement.
* Maintain accurate and timely documentation and reporting in line with regulatory standards.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers, educators, healthcare providers, and families.
* Participate in care planning, reviews, and advocacy on behalf of the young person.
* Respond appropriately to challenging behaviours using approved interventions and de-escalation techniques.
* Engage in ongoing professional development and supervision to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Requirements:
* A relevant qualification in Social Care or equivalent (minimum Level 7).
* Experience working with children or young people in a residential or community setting is advantageous.
* Knowledge of Children First, HIQA standards, and other relevant legislation and frameworks.
* Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment.
* Strong communication, resilience, empathy, and problem-solving skills.
* Full clean driver’s licence – desirable.
* CORU registration – desirable or willingness to register.
