Business Development Underwriter
Allianz Ireland seeks a Business Development Underwriter to join its commercial combined, property and liability underwriting team. The role is based in Elm Park, Dublin 4 and operates in a hybrid working model.
Key Responsibilities
* Profitably underwrite commercial, property and liability insurance submissions to achieve general written premium (GWP) targets across all sectors.
* Manage the end‑to‑end customer outcome for new business submissions, meeting allocated KPI targets.
* Balance speed of turnaround with technical requirements to deliver on team quote rate and conversion targets.
* Engage with internal stakeholders in Sales, Distribution, Pricing and Portfolio Management to negotiate terms and conduct detailed risk assessment within the Delegated Underwriting Authority (DUA) framework.
* Prospect and win new risks in partnership with Sales and Distribution, delivering on agreed performance and service metrics.
* Share technical expertise with colleagues and contribute to personal and team development.
* Identify and implement process, proposition or service improvements to better serve our customers.
Key Requirements / Skills & Experience
* Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial insurance (property and liability).
* Commercial Insurance Practitioner (CIP) or relevant underwriting qualification.
* Proven experience in growth, target achievement and underwriting.
Desirable
* Track record of writing commercial combined products at mid‑market level.
* Specialist experience in engineering, manufacturing and distribution sectors.
* Experience in a new business role in commercial or general insurance.
* Proficiency with Salesforce (or equivalent CRM) and i90.
