This panel may be used to fill current and future, permanent or specified-purpose vacancies, of either full-time or part-time duration for the position of Senior Physiotherapist in the Stroke Service or Acute rehabilitation service.

Purpose of Post: The Senior Physiotherapist will be responsible for developing and leading a specialised Physiotherapy service for the Stroke Early Supported Discharge (ESD) team, as an integral part of the wider Stroke Service at Regional Hospital Mullingar.
This service will be delivered in line with the National Clinical Programme model for stroke care, aiming to ensure a seamless transition for patients who are medically fit to return home from the acute hospital setting.
To support the stroke patient journey as they transition from inpatient care to community based services, ensuring coordination of care and optimisation of available resources.
The post holder will also be responsible for collecting service data, to demonstrate the effectiveness of the ESD model, and will participate in service innovation initiatives in conjunction with other team members.
There will be opportunities to contribute to ongoing and new service development projects, as well as research activities on site.
Eligibility Criteria, Qualifications and / or Experience: (a) Candidates for appointment must: (i) Be registered on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU (> AND (ii) Have three years full time (or an aggregate of three years) post qualification clinical experience in clinical setting.
AND (iii) Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
AND (iv) Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued. 2. Annual registration (i) On appointment, practitioners must maintain annual registration on Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU
AND (ii) Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC)
3. Health Candidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
4. Character Candidates for and any person holding the office must be of good character.
Post Specifics: Depth and breadth of clinical experience of working with adults with stroke / neuro-rehabilitative caseload. Evidence of continuous professional development relevant to Physiotherapy practice in the clinical speciality. Previous experience working in an acute hospital inpatient service. Other Requirements Specific to Post: Full drivers licence and access to vehicle for work purposes is essential.
