Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Nursing Manager to lead our Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit in North Cork.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care and services.
Main Responsibilities:
* Evaluate and update Individual Care Plans (ICPs) to ensure the highest possible quality and safety standards are met.
* Familiarize yourself with local safety statements, risk assessments, and standard operating procedures.
* Comply with all company policies and procedures.
* Use company IT systems as instructed and maintain confidentiality of personal and company data.
* Maintain high infection control standards and adhere to national best practice guidance.
* Support the nursing team in undertaking their roles and responsibilities.
Clinical Responsibilities:
* Provide a nursing assessment of patients admitted to the service.
* Participate in ward rounds, multi-professional meetings, and support the nursing team.
* Ensure a high standard of nursing care during procedures and treatments.
* Maintain patient rights under the Mental Health Act.
* Assist the Director of Nursing in ensuring staff awareness of individual care plans and objectives.
* Complete supervision and appraisals of junior staff members.
* Take charge of the Centre in the absence of the Director of Nursing.
Requirements:
* Registered on or eligible to be on the Psychiatric Division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
* Post-registration qualification in healthcare management or equivalent may be an advantage.
* Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, and codes of practice.
* A minimum of 5+ years post-qualification/registration Psychiatric nursing experience.
* A minimum of 3+ years relevant experience in a management position within Psychiatric nursing.
