About the Role
Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive – Foundation, the Fundraising Manager will play a strategic role focused on securing major gift support from individuals and members.
Key Responsibilities
* Meet fundraising targets through sourcing funds from corporates, trusts, foundations, and through grant-writing
* Build and steward relationships with funders and sponsors, ensuring appropriate engagement by key stakeholders
* In collaboration with relevant internal teams, identify institutional prospects and develop tailored cultivation plans
* Design engagement opportunities such as events and meetings for potential institutional supporters
* Develop and manage production of fundraising materials aligned with the broader external funding strategy
* Write funding proposals, applications, and update/close-out reports for corporate, trust, and foundation funding
* Coordinate with other fundraising staff to implement an action plan as outlined in the three-year fundraising strategy
* Enhance and maintain processes for monitoring the fundraising lifecycle and produce regular progress reports
* Contribute to communication of project impact through reports, publications, and digital content in collaboration with the Marketing/Communications team and other departments
* Undertake budget management and provide necessary financial and evaluation reports
* Prepare internal reports for boards and committees as required
* Participate in additional organisational projects and initiatives as directed by leadership
Person Specification
Experience:
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in designing and executing successful fundraising strategies.
* Strong understanding of fundraising regulations and best practices.
* Well-established network or contacts in sectors such as agriculture, arts, enterprise, or science.
* Experience with change management processes.
* Proven ability to meet or exceed engagement and fundraising targets
Skills:
* Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
* Exceptional relationship-builder with a talent for stakeholder engagement.
* Excellent organisational and analytical skills.
* Proficient in written and verbal communication.
* Creative and adaptable approach.
* High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and familiarity with digital and social media tools
Qualifications
* A relevant third-level qualification.
* Training in fundraising is an advantage
