Inclusive Education Specialist
Fostering an inclusive environment for students with autism requires a multi-faceted approach. As an Inclusive Education Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in embedding these principles within our services.
Main Responsibilities:
* Developing and maintaining relationships with external agencies to support transition planning for students with Autism is crucial. This includes identifying potential barriers and developing strategies to overcome them.
* The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering supported transition activities that cater to the unique needs of students with Autism. These activities should facilitate a seamless transition to higher education, empowering students to reach their full potential.
* You will work closely with academic staff, departments, and support services to address any academic or personal challenges students may encounter during their transition and participation in their chosen program of study.
* A key aspect of this role is delivering informative sessions to students with Autism on preparing for college transition. This will involve providing guidance on navigating university systems, managing coursework, and developing essential life skills.
* In addition, you will foster greater collaboration and partnership between various stakeholders, promoting a culture of inclusivity and respect within our institution.
The ideal candidate will possess experience working with students with autism and a passion for creating inclusive environments. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team, are essential for success in this role. A background in special education or a related field is highly desirable.
