About the Role
The EHS Project Engineer will lead environmental, health, and safety initiatives supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing and R&D operations.
This role integrates EHS principles into engineering projects, ensures regulatory compliance, and drives continuous improvement in safety, environmental, and sustainability performance.
You'll be a key technical resource, embedding EHS standards into high-hazard operations, construction, and process safety activities within a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
Integrate EHS requirements into capital projects, facility upgrades, and process changes.
Lead
Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs)
and ensure closure of EHS actions.
Identify and mitigate risks through
field walkdowns
,
PHA
, and
PSM assessments
.
Support
Construction Safety
,
Machine Safety
,
LOTO
, and
Permit to Work
programs.
Manage
chemical safety
,
hazardous waste
, and
industrial hygiene monitoring
.
Ensure compliance with
HSA
,
EPA
, and other EHS regulations.
Lead
incident investigations
,
audits
, and implement corrective actions.
Deliver EHS training and promote a proactive safety culture across projects.
Requirements
5+ years
EHS experience in
pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or chemical
manufacturing.
Strong technical background in
Construction Safety
,
Process Safety
, and
Regulatory Compliance
.
Skilled in
risk assessment
,
EHS documentation
, and
incident investigation
.
Excellent communicator and collaborator with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
Degree in
Environmental, Chemical, or Safety Engineering
, or related field.
Professional EHS certification
(e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, PSM, ATEX) preferred.
Experience in
GMP-regulated
environments advantageous.
