To continue the successful growth of EY’s Consulting practice, we are looking for experienced, motivated Project Controls Specialists with experience in construction and infrastructure projects. The role involves overseeing project controls to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, requiring attention to detail, analytical skills, and stakeholder communication.
About CPD & TD in EY:
Our Capital Programme Delivery (CPD) team is part of EY’s Irish Consulting practice, focused on sectors like energy, utilities, transport, housing, and healthcare. We aim to be trusted advisors in procurement, construction, and operations of major capital programs, leveraging industry experience, partnerships, and global EY expertise.
Your key responsibilities
Hiring Project Controls Specialists at all levels with engineering/technical backgrounds. Responsibilities include:
* Working with infrastructure clients to create insights and solutions.
* Developing project control processes for scope, schedule, cost, and quality management.
* Collaborating with project teams to establish baselines and monitor performance.
* Creating detailed schedules, analyzing critical paths, and resource allocation.
* Monitoring costs, tracking budgets, and providing reports.
* Risk assessment and mitigation.
* Conducting progress meetings and stakeholder updates.
* Using project management software to streamline controls.
* Mentoring junior staff.
* Supporting proposals and bids with data and analysis.
* Ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Internal Responsibilities
* Managing client accounts, recruitment, financials, and quality/risk.
* Building client and internal relationships.
* Supporting presentations and proposals.
* Communicating with senior management.
* Identifying opportunities to serve clients better.
* Supporting team development and performance reviews.
* Participating in recruiting, training, and technical development.
To qualify for the role, you must have
* Degree in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying, or related.
* Experience in project controls or management in infrastructure projects.
* Experience in consulting or client-facing roles is a plus.
* Proficiency in planning software like Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar, and MS Office.
* Knowledge of design and construction sequences.
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Leadership qualities and attention to detail.
* Knowledge of industry regulations and standards.
* Professional qualifications like PRINCE2 or PMP are desirable.
* Full work rights in Ireland required.
