As Senior Connection Contracts Specialist, you will prepare and issue connection contract offers to new and existing customers connecting directly to the transmission system and to the distribution system operator (DSO) for those connecting indirectly to the transmission system via the distribution system.
In this role you will, oversee the preparation and issuance of transmission use of system (TUo S) offers for customers using the transmission system and co-ordinate the contract management of all connection and transmission use of system contracts to ensure compliance and that all parties meet their contractual obligations.
This position is a senior member of the team, key to success in this role is collaboration, working with industry and teams across Eir Grid to drive out appropriate solutions to a range of complex technical and commercial issues.
The Team: The infrastructure office within Eir Grid comprises highly skilled professionals with backgrounds in engineering and business/commerce.
The Infrastructure Office is responsible for leading the development and delivery of the power system and interconnection investment programmes, in collaboration with partners, customers and communities.
The Customers and Connections function prepares and manages contracts for connection and use of the transmission system in Ireland and develops related connection policy as the industry evolves.
The team also manage the close collaboration with industry customers and related stakeholders who are key for the achievement of renewable targets, the continuation of sustainable economic growth, supporting security of supply and the transition of decarbonise the Irish power system.
The team continually seek opportunities to develop collaborative ways of working with industry to drive better outcomes for all.
You'll need to have: Relevant engineering/technical degree or equivalent qualification with 4+ years relevant experience working in a regulated environment, ideally the energy sector.
Excellent interpersonal skills along with the ability to work collaboratively across business areas with a proven ability to influence others.
Strong customer and commercial awareness.
Excellent communicator, with the ability to quickly grasp technical and or commercial concepts and articulate these concepts to non-technical audiences and business leaders.
Broad understanding of the technical and commercial aspects of the power industry, including connecting customers and those using the transmission system.
Proven experience of effective external stakeholder engagement and management in a complex environment and with an ability to drive successful outcomes.
Ability to work to deadlines under pressure and manage multiple stakeholders.
Strong ability to guide, persuade and influence others through developed skills of communication and diplomacy.
Experienced in resolving contentious disputes through mediation.
