Our client, a reputable and growing practice in Cork, is looking to recruit a Senior Accountant/Manager to help with the growth of the business.
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting, tax, and advisory services to a portfolio of clients. The role involves managing client relationships, supervising junior staff, ensuring compliance with Irish regulatory requirements, and supporting the partners in the efficient running and growth of the practice.
The Role:
* Manage a portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients
* Prepare and review statutory financial statements in accordance with Irish GAAP / FRS 102
* Prepare and review management accounts and financial reports
* Ensure compliance with Revenue, CRO, and other statutory obligations
* Identify and advise clients on accounting, tax, and business matters
* Prepare and review Corporation Tax, Income Tax, and Capital Gains Tax computations
* Review VAT returns and ensure compliance with Irish VAT regulations
* Support partners with tax planning and advisory assignments
* Liaise with Revenue Commissioners and other authorities as required
* Supervise, mentor, and review the work of trainees and junior accountants
* Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training
* Ensure client work is completed efficiently, on time, and to a high standard
* Maintain accurate records of time, WIP, and job progress
* Act as a primary point of contact for clients
* Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships
Requirements:
* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent)
* Minimum
3–6 years' experience
in professional practice
* Proven experience managing a client portfolio
* Strong technical knowledge of Irish accounting and tax
* Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
* Excellent communication and client-facing skills
