About The Role
Coffey is currently seeking an experienced Electrical Site Supervisor to deliver innovative and challenging projects across a diverse portfolio of MEICA and Civil works. You will work within our delivery team, which has extensive experience in successfully delivering schemes of varying sizes, primarily in the Water Industry, including Treatment, Waste, and Water schemes.
High levels of motivation and resilience, along with strong technical, quality control, and organizational skills, are essential for this role. The candidate must have a proven track record as an Electrical Site Supervisor, demonstrating integrity, a strong work ethic, and a target-focused approach, while embracing industry challenges and changes. The Electrical Site Supervisor will play a key role in supporting a team culture within their team and the company.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support the Site Agent, Project Manager, and MEICA Operations Manager as part of a multidisciplinary team to supervise external sub-contractors, ensuring their work is carried out safely, effectively, and to high-quality, client specifications.
2. Attend design workshops, HAZOPs, and planning sessions prior to construction.
3. Ensure compliance with Coffey’s HSQE policies, Electrical Safety Rules, and all relevant health and safety standards, policies, and regulations.
4. Develop and review risk assessments and method statements to ensure HSQE compliance.
5. Work safely and responsibly, adhering to risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work.
6. Record work progress on record drawings or other suitable means as required.
7. Inspect and document incoming materials and their documentation.
8. Assist in planning work activities and sequencing with the project team and subcontractors.
9. Support Project Engineers in the timely delivery of materials and coordination of installation teams.
10. Conduct toolbox talks and daily briefs.
11. Induct onsite personnel, subcontractors, and visitors.
12. Maintain current certifications and training records for onsite personnel, subcontractors, and equipment.
13. Ensure timely repair of defective plant and equipment, and clearly identify removed items.
14. Ensure all personnel wear appropriate PPE at all times.
15. Report accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences, and near misses to the Project Manager or directly to HSQE and HR departments if the Project Manager is absent.
16. Maintain good housekeeping and keep walkways clear.
17. Implement emergency plans when necessary.
18. Coordinate with safety officers and auditors during site inspections.
19. Record and close non-conformances, supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions.
20. Apply industry best practices to ensure a 'right first time' installation outcome.
21. Collaborate with colleagues, clients, suppliers, and other contractors.
22. Identify and promote improvement ideas via appropriate channels.
23. Perform other duties as necessary, consistent with your skills and knowledge.
About You
Desirable Experience and Qualifications:
1. Relevant qualifications (ONC/HNC/equivalent – electrical or ICA) or extensive proven experience.
2. Minimum two years’ experience in a similar role within the utilities sector and/or M&E engineering environment.
3. Experience with electrical installations in water and wastewater treatment sectors.
4. Experience working with electrical procedures, including issuing electrical permits.
5. Experience with LV electrical switchgear, motor control centres, control systems, and telemetry.
6. Experience with industrial low voltage electrical installations.
7. Awareness of High Voltage installations.
8. First Aid certification.
9. Mechanical awareness and training are advantageous.
