Batch Processing Specialist
KennCo Underwriting one of Irelands largest MGA's is looking to hire a Batch Processing Specialist to work in their busy IT Department. Located on the Grange Road in Rathfarnham this exciting and innovative Underwriting agency is looking to hire someone dynamic that can fit well into the IT Team at KennCo. As the Batch Processing Specialist you will have a degree in a computer science / information technology / or computer related discipline with a number of years of similar experience preferably in the Insurance Industry (or in a comparable industry) and proven experience running and managing a multi-process system.
Who you will be working with:
Primarily you will work in a squad alongside fellow IT and Technical analysts and report to the IT Manager within the larger IT team. The role has some cross over into IT Services. You will also work regularly with managers across various departments within the business.
What you will be doing:
· Main Batch Processor of all inbound and outbound files for all product lines on company ERP system
· Responsible for processing all policy and claim imports
· Proactively seek to automate processes where possible
· Responsible for managing master data updates/Integration mappings
· Managing relationship with various software houses, attending regular meeting, following up on outstanding issues
· Management and creation of monthly reports
· Light scripting (Java, python, SQL)
· Working closely with underwriting departments on general Policy/EDI related queries
· Handling the distribution of files to 3rd parties and managing 3rd party relationships
· Importing of vehicle file updates
· Responding to queries related to all aspects of batch processing
· Responsible for maintaining KPI's and setting new KPI's where applicable
· Assistance on general office queries (2nd Level Helpdesk support)
· Working with project team on system advancements
o Building and developing new product lines batch processing
· Assistance on system testing relating to changes or improvements to batch processing
· Continual Improvement to batch processes and other responsibilities
o looking for ways to improve efficiencies within your role
Technical Knowledge & Skills
· Experience with this software a distinct advantage
o SQL query
o Java, python or similar
o Microsoft Dynamics Navision
o Jira (or similar Kanban / Agile software)
o Word/Excel
· Proficient knowledge of SQL, EDI, reporting, coding
· Good problem solving & proven troubleshooting skills
· Good communication and listening skills particularly the ability to communicate with those who are not technically skilled
· Ability to work on support cases and see them through to resolution
· Proficient knowledge of Office applications (Word / Excel, VB & Macros)
· Ability to work as part of a team
· Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time and effectively prioritise work where necessary
· Must take pride in your work and deliver it to a high standard
