Talent Partner | Executive Search Specialist in Onshore & Offshore Wind
Commissioning Engineer (Primary and Secondary)
* Location: Ireland, (Multiple sites across Ireland)
* Job Type: Permanent

Turner Lovell is working with a growing infrastructure services company to recruit skilled Commissioning Engineers to join their expanding Substation Electrical Division. The company provides comprehensive design, build, and maintenance solutions for critical infrastructure, leveraging advanced software tools to ensure cost-effective and client-focused project delivery.
Your day to day:
* Assist in commissioning primary, secondary and ancillary plant forming part of Transmission System
* Assist in commissioning testing of instrument transformers, power transformers and HV GIS switchgear.
* Assist in commissioning testing of protection relays using Omicron test equipment
* Maintain test records and collate test results for incorporation into H&S Files for project.
* Work through all schematics, cubicle wiring and functional testing.
* Have knowledge of typical protection philosophies as applied to Transmission Systems
* Attend regular project meetings with client and project manager and address actions arising.
* Be self-motivated and capable of working on your own initiative without direct supervision.
Health, Safety, Quality & Environment (HSQE) Responsibilities:

* Adherence to HSQE Briefs, safety documentation, uniforms and PPE relevant to substation installation tasks.
* Contribute to the development of Method Statements/Risk Assessments to cover commissioning work activities.
* Ensure the risks and control measures associated with the company’s activities are identified and that control systems are adhered to prior to engaging in commissioning activities.
* Ensure any incidents and accidents are reported in a timely manner.
You must have the following:
* Relevant qualifications similar to HNC/Degree in Electrical Engineering.
* Experience in commissioning substations with voltages up to 400kV.
* Experience with protection equipment e.g ABB, Siemens, Toshiba and knowledge of station digital control systems (SCS).
* Both Primary & Secondary plant commissioning experience
* English Proficiency: Must have the ability to understand and convey information related to safety instructions, technical manuals, and routine tasks. (IELTS score of ≥ 5.0)
* Full Irish Driving Licence or equivalent
