Overview
Director of Software Engineering - Infrastructure Security at Fidelity Investments.
We are seeking a strategic and technically adept Director of Software Engineering to provide technical leadership to two high-impact engineering teams in Enterprise Cybersecurity.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about building secure, scalable, and high-performing software systems.
In an agile structure you will collaborate with other leaders to establish engineering standards, best practices, influence strategic decisions and build world class security solutions.
This role covers both the Infrastructure Security Engineering and SecureTrak squads (both part of the Application and Infrastructure Security Product Area).
The primary focus of the Infrastructure Security Engineering squad is to build the Vulnerability Intelligence Platform which will incorporate the operational data store (ODS) for the product area.
This platform will be a central location for operational data for the product area, making data sourcing and structures vendor agnostic and creating a data source that can be used to identify patterns and behaviours.
The SecureTrak application continuously scans key infrastructures and resources to identify and evaluate known vulnerabilities to inform Fidelity technology product owners of required remediation and mitigation activities.
The squad's focus is on delivering end-to-end product solutions where stability and security are our highest priority.

Oversee and participate in the design, development, test, deployment and operation of enterprise-standard applications.
Continued focus on engineering excellence, including improving automation, test coverage, release velocity and production health.
You are a creator and a doer who will help tackle real-life problems and meet real consumer needs.
Communicate effectively to influence peers, business units and technology decision makers; build relationships with key partners to ensure effective delivery.
Clearly detail requirements and system designs so they can be understood by both technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications
10+ years of experience leading the design and development of enterprise-standard applications using major languages (e.g., Python, Go, Java) and pipelines/build tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins, AWS CDK, Terraform).
Experience building scalable applications on Kubernetes or similar platforms.
Experience with AWS technologies (or Azure/GCP equivalents): EKS, SNS, SQS, IAM.
Experience with data technologies (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, AWS RDS, AWS Athena, Parquet, PyArrow).
Experience with data pipelines and ETL/ELT is a significant advantage.
Experience with unit and functional testing (JUnit, PyUnit, Karate, Playwright, etc.).
Hands-on experience with automation and pipeline implementation (Testing, CI/CD).
Experience in an agile environment (Scrum) and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
Skills
Strong engineering skills with experience deploying maintainable, scalable multi-tiered applications.
Experience designing and developing applications using listed technologies.
Experience with test automation and test tools.
Ability to communicate and influence decision makers and stakeholders.
Focus on operational excellence and modern agile engineering approaches.
Ability to mentor and empower engineers and to guide team delivery.
Ability to assess business needs and determine viable, scalable solutions with reuse in mind.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to make timely decisions in ambiguous situations.
Value and Impact
Oversee design, development, testing, deployment and operation of enterprise-standard applications.
Focus on engineering excellence, automation, test coverage, release velocity and production health.
Demonstrate strong communication and collaboration to drive meaningful discussions and delivery.
