Location of Post
There is currently one Specified Purpose & Whole-Time Candidate Advanced Practice Radiation Therapist (cAPRT) vacancy available in Gynaecology, Galway University Hospitals.
The post of Candidate Advanced Practice Radiation Therapist is a whole-time Specified Purpose Contract for the duration of the candidacy i.e. maximum of 3 years.
The candidate is required to achieve essential milestones thereby successfully completing their candidacy within a maximum of 3 years from commencement of this post.
On successful completion of the requirements of the candidacy programme, the candidate will be appointed to the post of Advanced Practice Radiation Therapist on a permanent basis.
Failure to successfully complete their candidacy within a maximum of 3 years from commencement in this candidate post, will result in termination of the Advanced Practice career pathway for the candidate and a return to a previously held substantive post OR redeployment within the organisation.
A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled.
Post Specific Related Information
Provide evidence of commitment to engaging in learning to support the development of competency and core capabilities in the four pillars of advanced practice as per HSCP Advanced Practice Framework *****) regarding candidate and Advanced Practice HSCP roles:
(i) clinical practice
(ii) leadership and management
(iii) education and facilitation of clinical learning, and
(iv) evidence, research and development;
This evidence must lead to the demonstration of competence and capability relevant to scope of practice and role.
Demonstrate a proven record of clinical excellence in the field of radiotherapy
Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the required area of radiotherapy, in the form of post-graduate qualifications or relevant courses.
Demonstrate achievement in the areas of clinical audit, quality improvement initiatives, practice development, teaching and research.
