Site Engineer Dun Laoghaire A leading construction main contractor is currently seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join their project team based in Dun Laoghaire.

You will oversee key engineering tasks on-site, with a primary focus on accurate setting out, ensuring compliance with design specifications, and maintaining high standards in line with the principles of the Considerate Constructors Scheme.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct accurate setting out activities to support construction operations.
Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and project programmes to ensure precise execution.
Manage site engineering operations including surveying, levelling, and quality checks.
Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
Provide technical support and guidance to site personnel and subcontractors.
Ensure all works comply with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Maintain accurate documentation such as as-built records, surveys, and QA reports.
Assist with project planning, focusing on engineering milestones and setting out tasks.
Monitor on-site progress and take corrective action where necessary to meet deadlines.
Contribute to continuous improvement and efficiency in site processes.
Support and mentor junior engineers, encouraging professional development.
Requirements: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a site engineering role, with strong setting out skills.
Proficient in surveying instruments and software Total Station, GPS, CAD.
Solid understanding of construction methods, engineering principles, and building regulations.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a high attention to detail.
Excellent communication and coordination skills, both written and verbal.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and manage priorities in a dynamic environment.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Ability to interpret programmes, technical drawings, and specifications.
Full clean driving licence is essential.
Desirable: Membership of a professional engineering body (e.g., Engineers Ireland).
Experience on medium to large-scale construction projects in a senior engineering capacity.
Familiarity with BIM and digital construction technologies.
