Role Purpose
The Project Manager will be responsible for leading and delivering a range of projects within the food processing sector, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance. This role will involve close collaboration with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to drive improvements in efficiency, productivity, and sustainability. The position will be primarily based at Grange, Co Sligo, Ireland, with occasional travel to the UK for project coordination, supplier engagement, and training.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Delivery
* Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
* Lead project execution, ensuring adherence to goals, deadlines, and industry standards.
* Monitor progress, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions where required.
Technical & Regulatory Compliance
* Ensure all projects comply with food safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
* Collaborate with quality assurance and regulatory teams to integrate compliance into project design and implementation.
Stakeholder & Team Management
* Act as the primary contact for project stakeholders, providing updates and reports.
* Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, production, procurement, supply chain) and manage relationships with external contractors and suppliers.
Budget & Resource Control
* Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and accurate reporting.
* Allocate resources effectively and monitor utilisation to achieve project outcomes.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
* Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency gains, and new technologies.
* Drive initiatives that enhance productivity, sustainability, and competitiveness in food processing operations.
Travel Requirement
* Occasionally, travel to the UK for project coordination, supplier visits, and training.
Requirements & Competencies
Essential
* Proven experience in project management within the food processing, FMCG, or manufacturing sectors.
* Strong understanding of food safety regulations, quality standards, and industry compliance requirements.
* Excellent planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
* Strong leadership and communication abilities, with the capacity to manage cross-functional teams.
* Experience managing budgets, resources, and supplier relationships.
* Proficiency with project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, ERP systems).
* Flexibility to travel occasionally to the UK.
Desirable
* Professional project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP).
* Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
* Experience implementing new technologies or automation in food processing.
