Maintain and Develop Site Quality Systems While Driving a Culture of Continuous Improvement.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead our Quality, Hygiene, and Facilities Cleaning teams at our Tullamore site. Reporting to the Technical Manager, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring food safety, compliance, and quality excellence across the site.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll manage compliance with BRC, BORD BIA, HACCP, Group and customer food standards, while also driving continuous improvement initiatives. You’ll act as the key site contact for audits and regulators, support new product development, and promote a culture where food safety and quality come first.
This role is site based 5 days a week.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Ensure site compliance with BRC, BORD BIA, HACCP, group, and customer standards
* Lead and develop the Quality, Hygiene, and Facilities Cleaning teams
* Co-ordinate training to ensure quality and food safety competence across departments
* Lead incident investigations, identifying root causes and corrective actions
* Manage internal audits and support third-party, customer, and regulatory audits
* Act as primary contact for DAFM representatives and customer queries
* Oversee supplier approval and specification systems
* Support NPD and Quality teams with trials and product introductions
* Manage and maintain the ISO14001 system
* Drive continuous improvement and embed a culture of quality excellence
* Act as deputy for the Head of Technical during absence
The Ideal Candidate
* Degree in Food Science or related discipline with experience in the food industry
* Proven experience in a similar QM role, within food production - ideally dealing with a range of proteins
* Strong knowledge of HACCP, food legislation, quality management systems, and auditing
* Familiarity with retailer specification platforms is an advantage
* Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
* Confident leading teams and building strong cross-functional relationships
* Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel)
* Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and drive results
