Director of Corporate Services and Public Affairs, TG4 Permanent Contract TG4 is seeking to recruit a Director of Corporate Services and Public Affairs on a permanent contract.
Reporting to the Director General, the Director of Corporate Services and Public Affairs will be responsible for corporate affairs including leading TG4's corporate governance duties, directing human resources as well as the organisation's public affairs responsibilities.
The Director of Corporate Services and Public Affairs will be a member of TG4's senior management team.
TG4 is a national Irish-language television broadcaster based in Baile na hAbhann, Co.
Galway.
TG4 is a public service broadcaster-publisher that sources the majority of its content, which has won numerous awards and accolades, from the independent production sector.
TG4 content is available on all television platforms throughout Ireland, worldwide on the internet and on digital platforms.
Irish is the working language of TG4 and therefore it is essential that the person appointed has excellent Irish, both spoken and written.

This position will be based at TG4 Headquarters in Baile na hAbhann, Co.

Job Description This role is a great opportunity for a high-calibre leader to utilise their executive experience to provide leadership and motivation to deliver on broad and diverse portfolios and to advance TG4's strategic objectives.
Reporting to the Director General, the Director of Corporate Services and Public Affairs will be responsible for the effective strategic implementation of Corporate Services, Human Resources and Public Affairs.
The incumbent will have direct responsibility for implementing good governance, including full compliance with statutory requirements and will take the lead on work relating to the Board of TG4's Audit and Risk Committee on organisational governance issues.
The incumbent will be a member of TG4's Leadership Team.
The person appointed will be responsible for the following as well as other matters: Oversight of Corporate Governance, Human Resources and Public Policy and motivation of organisational excellence in implementing processes as well as ensuring alignment with existing policies and their implementation.
Leadership in the functional areas within his/her remit and fostering an organisational culture to facilitate the achievement of TG4's strategic vision in line with corporate governance requirements.
Implementation of good practices in corporate governance in the organisation and ensuring that TG4 is fulfilling its corporate governance responsibilities in accordance with the Code of Practice for the Governance of State Bodies.
Reviewing TG4's governance framework periodically and ensuring that it is fit for purpose.
Acting as TG4's representative for corporate governance relations with the Department and with relevant public bodies.
Management and co-ordination of the implementation of the annual internal audit plan, ensuring that recommendations are appropriately acted upon and that reports and updates are presented to the Leadership team and to the Audit and Risk Committee.
Oversight of administrative support for the audit and risk committee Management of the internal risk committee and risk register and working with risk owners to identify and manage the status of risks and associated mitigation actions, and reporting regularly to the leadership team and TG4's Audit and Risk Committee on key strategic and organisational risks.
Direction and co-ordination with Coimisiún na Meán to write and compile the annual statement of performance commitments and the annual review of performance commitments.
Direction of, writing and delivering the TG4 Annual Report to the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport.
Direction and oversight of the Human Resources function in the organisation which is aligned with business goals.
Strategic planning of human resources policies and procedures to meet the needs of the organisation including team planning and development, team performance, employee relations and policy compliance as a core part of TG4 Corporate Services.
Supervision of compliance and governance with regard to employment and internal investigation legislation.
Ensuring that the company's policies are in line with legislation and are continuously reviewed and kept up to date.
Directing TG4's procurement strategy and procurement policies and taking overall accountability for ensuring the successful execution of the strategy and compliance with policies.
Data governance and compliance, including the implementation of freedom of information, data protection and protected disclosure measures.
Parliamentary Questions, freedom of information requests and compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation.
Acting as Company Secretary for Teilifís na Gaeilge.
Requirements for this job: The applicant must fulfil the following requirements: Irish is the working language in TG4.

Significant experience in corporate governance, public affairs or another transferable field.
A master's degree in business, management, human resources, law or another field directly related to this role.
A strong track record and extensive work experience in leading Corporate Services and Governance functions.
Experience in developing and implementing policies, procedures and systems to ensure compliance, best practice and consistency in organisational operations.
Proven experience in managing teams, negotiating and dealing with stakeholders and partners at a senior level.
The ability to identify challenges/barriers to delivery, resolve problems and anticipate future challenges.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to influence people.
A proven ability to exercise sound judgment and make clear and decisive strategic decisions Ensure that there is good communication between team members and that information is shared effectively within one's own teams and with fellow managers and colleagues.
Collaborate with senior management on the work of the organisation and the work carried out with other organisations.
This role is designed for a person who can work confidently, flexibly, effectively and independently in a stimulating environment.

Additional Information for the Applicant Job Grade: Grade 1 Working Hours: 39 hours per week.
Flexibility is expected from time to time due to the requirements of the job, i.e. willingness to work, occasionally, outside office hours, at weekends and on bank holidays.
Entitlement to leave for public holidays is in accordance with the terms of the Organisation of Working Time Act, ****.
Holidays: In addition to statutory bank holidays, you will be entitled to 26 days' paid holidays per year.
Pension: TG4 staff are eligible to join the TG4 Group Pension Scheme subject to the terms of any existing scheme.
Travel: The role will involve occasional travel, both within Ireland and abroad.
