The Senior Accountant will play a key role in delivering strong financial control, management accounts, and timely reporting across a diverse client portfolio. This position offers meaningful client-facing responsibility, supporting businesses through financial insight, mentoring, and advisory support.
The role also involves contributing to tax return preparation, overseeing payroll processes, and participating in innovative finance projects, including the development of automated accounting solutions.
You will work collaboratively with an experienced finance team to provide efficient, tailored services to clients.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:
* Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts
* Oversee financial control and compliance processes
* Deliver reporting, benchmarking, and financial analysis for retail clients
* Liaise with clients, providing financial advice and mentoring
* Assist with tax returns and statutory compliance
* Oversee payroll processes
* Contribute to financial process improvements and automation initiatives
Skills and Experience of the Senior Accountant:
* Strong experience in accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance
* Knowledge of financial controls, auditing, and advisory practices
* Proficiency with an accounting software.
* Excellent communication and client relationship management skills
* Highly organised, detail-focused, and able to meet deadlines
* Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; ACA/ACCA/CIMA preferred
* Experience in retail-focused financial services is beneficial
