OverviewDesignBuild Search are working with an expanding Engineering consultancy. Due to growth, they have an opening for an experience Mechanical Design Engineer in their Waterford office. In this position you will report into the directors and leadership team. The successful applicant will provide input into the overall running of projects to ensure successful project delivery.RequirementsDegree qualified in Building Services / Mechanical engineering with 5 years of relevant design and consultancy experience in building services projects.Preferably be chartered with a recognised professional institution (e.g. Engineers Ireland, CIBSE) or be on route to chartershipExperienced in design using Revit in the BIM environment ( not essential)Experienced in design using computer simulation software such as IES ( not essential)Knowledge and interest in the implementation of sustainability measures in designs in compliance with NZEBHave considerable technical design experience in all areas of Mechanical design across many project types including industrial, commercial, education retail & hospitality, healthcare, etc.Have considerable knowledge of the consulting experience and successful project management experience in the Mechanical sector both in buildings and in infrastructureGood working knowledge of relevant legislations, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelinesIdeally have a well-developed network of client contacts (or the development of this within this position)Additional requirementsAbility to represent the organisation and to relate and work well with people at all levelsProven team player with the ability to maintain motivation and manage the performance of team members, including the ability to be proactive, but tactful, in ensuring others within the team meet deadlines and other expectationsWell-developed ability to think strategically and formulate innovative plans and solutionsAbility to maintain personal effectiveness, workload issues, and team and client relationships, both under normal circumstances, and at times of significant pressure.Keen sense of maintaining high standards, and a strong desire to motivate the same in othersKeen understanding of ‘customer’ needs and a strong ability to effectively manage the issues which may impact on maintaining effectiveness within a commercial environmentOrganised and adaptable with a flexible approach to work
