Product Engineer - Full-time – Permanent Position
Are you looking for a great opportunity as a Product Engineer? Then we are looking for you!
The Product Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining product specifications that are accurate and representative of each customer’s specific requirements, as well as Nelipak Healthcare Packaging Derry’s (NHPD’s) manufacturing capabilities. This includes designing and purchasing job-specific tooling for use in the manufacture of our product portfolio and maintaining complete and accurate records of product specification history.
In this role, you are responsible for:
* Acts as a safety leader and prioritizes safety in all responsibilities.
* Adheres to all Corporate & Site Environmental, Health, & Safety policies & procedures.
* Reviews each new product request from customers and uses knowledge of machine capabilities to determine the most efficient manufacturing process.
* Reviews, interprets, and controls customer-supplied specifications for NHPD products, developing product specifications and communicating any exceptions to the customer.
* Translates customer-supplied information into NHPD’s Customer-facing specification format using AutoCAD and communicates directly with the customer for approval.
* Maintains all NHPD customer-facing specifications, customer-supplied specifications, and supporting documentation in organized customer master files.
* Generates accurate internal product specifications in SAP based on the approved customer-facing specifications for manufacturing use.
* Provides the SAP Business Data Specialist(s) with accurate product information for SAP master data, Bills of Materials, and routings.
* Designs, orders, and issues job-specific tooling according to manufacturing specifications.
* Controls product/tooling design advancements based on customer requirements.
* Manages change requests from various departments in accordance with customer agreements.
* Collaborates on new business development projects aligned with the company sales plan.
* Uses analytical skills to resolve manufacturing issues related to product engineering.
* Ensures data accuracy, integrity, and completeness.
* Practices sound engineering principles for design improvements and issue resolution.
* Participates in customer audits as necessary.
Qualifications include an associate’s degree or equivalent education and experience, AutoCAD experience, and proficiency in Microsoft software.
Desirable criteria:
* At least 3 years of experience working with business functions and data requirements in legacy systems is preferred.
