Job Objectives
We are seeking a Junior Doctor to join our dynamic team at our new mental health service in Gormanston, Co. Meath.
The post holder will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality services, including assessment, diagnosis, and the development, monitoring, and review of treatment programmes.
Key responsibilities include:

2. Providing quality services in compliance with national and local policies and regulations
3. Conducting basic psychiatric assessments and diagnostic formulations
4. Performing risk assessments and management
5. Collaborating with the primary healthcare team to deliver medical care within the standard of care for internal medicine patients
6. Ordering laboratory tests and referring patients to specialists as needed
7. Analyzing reports, test results, and medical records to diagnose and propose treatments
8. Prescribing medications and treatment regimens for medical conditions
9. Discussing medication side effects and allergies with patients and families
10. Adhering to departmental policies, safety, and infection control standards
11. Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with health information privacy laws
Skills Required
Qualifications
* Fully registered Medical Practitioner with the Irish Medical Council
* MBBS or equivalent qualification
* In good standing with Medical Council Ireland
Knowledge
* Understanding of the Mental Health Act 2001
* Knowledge of psychopharmacology principles and practices
Experience
* Experience working with adults with mental illness and complex care needs
Skills
* Strong clinical skills with a biopsychosocial approach
* Ability to reflect on CPD activities and clinical practice
