Job Description
We are currently seeking applications for the position of "Assistant Childcare Worker" to join our Community Employment Programme. The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in working with children, a willingness to learn and achieve qualifications in Childcare, and the ability to contribute positively to a busy preschool environment. This role offers valuable experience for anyone interested in developing a career in childcare and early years education.
About the Role
The successful candidate will assist the Preschool Teacher in delivering a stimulating, varied, and play‑based learning programme while supporting the well‑being and development of the children attending the service. The role may also involve carrying out additional duties as requested by the Manager.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with the daily running of the childcare service.
Support children during activities and play sessions.
Help prepare and serve snacks.
Carry out cleaning and tidying duties to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
Assist staff members in setting up rooms and materials before each session.
Help create a positive, caring and inclusive environment where children can build confidence and self‑esteem.
Support the implementation of a play‑based programme that meets the needs and interests of the children.
Assist in establishing and maintaining daily routines.
Support the planning and preparation of weekly activities and ensure all necessary materials are prepared in advance.
Follow instructions and policies to ensure the safety and well‑being of all children.
Carry out additional duties as required by the Manager.
